Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938

I loved Tale of the Nine Tailed so when I learned that there was a second season, I didn't hesitate to watch it. This time Yeon goes back to 1938 in search of the masked person who took a magical stone. And here we get to see Rang once more. And we are introduced to Hong Joo, Moo Young and another set of characters that are memorable and fun to watch. There is a balance of action, humor, suspense and horror in this series that kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved watching these friends reconcile and work together, just like I loved seeing Yeon and Rang again.

the CGI in the train fight was cringy but everything else was really good. I totally loved this sequel. If you saw the first one, you gotta se this one.

As more naked bodies file in, the tension could be cut with a knife.

The establishment was supposed to close off the bathhouse for the rest of the night. Any further admittance being strictly forbidden. This has never happened before, there must be some scheduling mistake.

Even with the fights and squabbling breaking out from before, the easy air was no longer.

All eyes are on the men entering.

Recognition dawns.

Turns out, they are not out of place here.

Gun Park makes the first move.

"Warai Oni," he bows, "We finally meet."

Baek Seongjun returns the greeting with reverence, "Shiro Oni."

"The fuck is wrong with your eyes?" A rude voice cuts through.

"Taehoon!" Yoo Hobin scolds under his breath, elbowing him swiftly in the stomach. He'd much rather face the wrath of Taehoon, who would likely just kick him a few times, than the infamous Gun Park, who would probably murder him. "Don't you know who that is?!"

"Why the fuck would I know?" Seong Taehoon does indeed throw a kick at Hobin, who manages to jump out of the way in time. How dare that little asshole elbow him.

"That's Gun Park!" Snapper is practically vibrating with excitement to be in the same place as him. "He was voted most popular by a fricking HUGE margin!"

Gun smirks at the last part but of course his partner comes to rain on his parade.

"So what? His eyes are freaky, aren't they?" Goo Kim teases, materialising next to Taehoon and resting his head on his shoulder. "He's so ugly."

"Get off!" Goo pouts as Taehoon pushes him away.

"Hey," Jason Yoon nudges Johan Seong, "There's that Taehoon. Do you think we should say hi?"

Johan doesn't bother to look, making a move to get out of the water anyway. "Whatever. Any crossover was years ago."

"So what's your backstory?" Baek Hangyul asks the man sitting to his right.

"Nothing interesting," Jinho shrugs. "I'm just crazy."

"Same." Hangyul smiles at him, having found a kindred spirit.

Seo Haesu studies the menu on the wall, mind never too far from food, and wondering what he should eat next.

"Hi," he greets the guy now next to him, eyes also scanning the menu.

Johan looks over and nods.

"Welcome to the Sad Boy Simp Club!" Ryuhei throws his arm around Kim Munseong.

"Sup," Zack Lee says, joined by Xiaolong and Warren Chae.

"I... guess that's me." Munseong grimaces, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Can I join?" Wangguk overhears, thinking that he deserves at least an honorary membership.

Confusion paints Munseong's face. "I thought you and Rumi...?"

"Sort of. It's all very rushed. No one's satisfied-"

Xiaolong suddenly breaks off from the group "Sorry, excuse me!" having spotted someone in the distance.

Ji Yeonwoo feels strangely exposed as he walks nude into the room. Not that he's shy, but he feels vulnerable. Like someone is constantly watching. He heads for the water as quickly as he can, wanting to cover up.

Mangi relaxes in the water as Yeonwoo settles next to him.

Two bald heads belonging to Jerry Kwon and Brad Lee catches his eye. He smiles to himself, comforted by the sight of his bald brethren.

A set of doppelgangers meet up.

"Baek Seongjun!" Xiaolong calls out. The other blue haired man smiles politely at him.

"I'm sorry for stealing your design," Xiaolong, contrite, executes a 90 degree bow.

"Don't worry," Seongjun dismisses any concern or ill-will, "It's not your fault. Besides, I'm dead."

From afar, Eugene keeps a close eye on Yeonwoo, observing him from the moment the latter walked in. Almost a doppelganger of his own if his growth spurt would kick in and if he could put on 30lb of muscle.

“Stereotypical-First” Type of Guy

This man is an absolute sucker for romance. It’s obvious that he actually cares and that first date won’t certainly be the last. It all started off as jokes & teasing, until you two developed feelings. So, now you’re sitting with him on a picnic blanket in a secluded part of the beach and it’s around 6 in the evening. He got you a bouquet of your favorite flowers, an item you really like [books, art materials, etc.], and prepared the scene the two of you were sat at. Theres a picnic basket on the blanket, various seashells you two collected all around you two, some petals he placed in advance to set the scene— It was straight out of a movie. He lit up a candle with one of the scents you’ve mentioned was your favorite and it’s safe to say his efforts paid off. Eventually, you two went on a stroll after having a little dinner. You went around the beach and reached the ocean shore— which escalated in an innocent water fight. You guys splashed one another with water and laughed. This guy has good aim so you were really soaked while he was still mostly dry… So he made it an opportunity to give you his jacket/coat, since you were wearing a not so thick dress and got soaked in cold water.

“You’re the only girl i’ve ever brought to this place” Type of Guy

You’ve known this guy for years, maybe even a decade. Which is why he brought you to a place he holds close to his heart, some place he wouldn’t take anyone else whose just a fling or doesn’t matter to him to that extent. He informs the owner of the place in advance of the special someone he’s bringing to have dinner. Even the owner is shocked, as he became close friends over the years with this person— and knowing him almost as well as you do (to a certain extent), the thought of him bringing someone over, especially a girl, never would have crossed his mind in his entire life. Which is why he made sure to make everything extra special that night, not wanting to disappoint you and this guy. This guy specifically tells you that this is his favorite place, and he’s brought a very close guy friend of his or two, but has never even mentioned it to a girl. This small and cozy place is hidden in a secluded area, so you two had a romantic night. It ended with him taking you back to your place and a good night kiss. It felt surreal considering you’ve been just friends for so long who has actually had feelings for each other but never admitted until just recently, which led to this first date.

“Simple & Sincere Since The Beginning” Type of Guy

This guy is simple and you stayed for that. Ever since you first met him, it was already made clear that he wasn’t the type of guy to be so outgoing and extra. He likes simple and innocent activities that you two do because it puts a smile on your face, and anything that makes you happy, makes him even happier. And knowing how much you love movies, he decided he’d go ahead and prepare the movie you’ve been dying to see for so long, so that the two of you could watch it at his place. It was just you and him, nobody else, sat down together with various snacks that he noticed you love. It didn’t matter to him what movie it was— comedy, adventure, horror, or even romance, what mattered to him was your enjoyment that night. From sneaking his arm around your waist to cuddling without you even noticing, this guy is smooth and he made good use of it. Your first date lasted for hours because you fell asleep in his arms, to which he didn’t wake you—instead, slept along with you. Some would say that it’s weird to already cuddle and fall asleep together on the first date, but you’ve been so close to this guy for so long that it’s almost as if its just another day.

“Flaunt You With His Money” Type of Guy

This guy is rich, he’s filthy rich. As expected from these kinds of guys, your first date is at a classy restaurant that you can’t even pronounce the name of. He picks you up from your house in one of his cars, which he made sure to choose your favorite color & the car you seemed most comfortable in. But he also made sure to choose something flashy, so that you wouldn’t be thinking of any of the other cars he owns. He’s dressed up in a suit, and this guy has plenty of them. His hair is fixed for the occasion and his fragrance is one you can’t forget because of how good it smells, but it isn’t too strong so that it won’t get to your head. He picks you up in the evening, around five. He goes up to your doorstep with a large bouquet of your favorite flowers and chocolates he knows are your favorites. He patiently waited at your door while you were putting the flowers in a vase with water, and the gifts in the refrigerator / on the counter, (because chocolates wasn’t the only gift he brought you). He made sure to be even more of a gentleman than he already is to you, opening the door for you, pulling the chair for you to sit on. And because you’re wearing a dress with little to no sleeves, he gave you his coat.

I've just now figured what exactly was going on at Dongsik's basement as he was goading Joowon while Joowon had his gun pointed at him.

Dongsik at this point had also already figured out that his sister's case was not an isolated one. The deaths were all connected because it was the work of a serial killer: Kang Jinmook.

He had already figured this out when he stumbled upon Minjeong's fingers at the Kang residence's basement. Considering he knew the modus operandi because he stole Yuyeon's and Bang Juseon's case files, it was not a big leap to connect Minjeong's killer as the same one.

At this point too, he had also confirmed that the then unnamed victim he, Joowon, and Jihoon found at the reed field was killed with the same modus operandi, therefore it was also done by the same killer.

And the last confirmation he needed was given to him by Joowon himself: when Joowon accused him, while he was detained at the Munju police station, of having killed Han Jeongim too, precisely because Joowon gave him the final clue that the serial killer used human attachment to get closer to his victims before he killed them.

And there was only one other person within their Manyang circle with a missing family member whom Kang Jinmook was also close to: Yoo Jaeyi.

Remember that Dongsik had on his wall multiple posters of missing persons. But there was only one among them who was related to Yoo Jaeyi.

Han Jeongim. Yoo Jaeyi's missing mother.

That's 5 victims Dongsik had finally confirmed in his head: Lee Yuyeon, Bang Juseon, Kang Minjeong, Han Jeongim—and Lee Geumhwa. That's enough to conclude the work of a serial killer.

But he had absolutely no hard evidence to prove it. Everything was merely conjecture and coincidence.

So what did Dongsik do?

He goaded Joowon. He had to tell him, without telling him, that what they were dealing with was a serial killer.

He blatantly told all the clues as if he was the serial killer himself. Deliberately played with Joowon's mind, making Joowon himself question all the connections, because he wanted Joowon to know it for himself.

However, this was what Dongsik didn't know:

Joowon had already figured out for himself, even before he ever came to Manyang, even before he and Dongsik had ever met, that this was the work of a serial killer.

Because this was the case he had been trying his best to convince Foreign Affairs of only to frustratingly be dismissed by his superiors:

The serial killing of the Chinese prostitutes: Jin Hwalim, Wi Sunhui, Yeo Chunok—and Lee Geumhwa.

The victim from the reed field. The one that finally connected the serial killing case that Joowon was working on—and the one Dongsik had just figured out when he found Minjeong's fingers.

Two halves of a whole, finally coming together.

Ironically, Dongsik had been trying his best to tell Joowon what he already knew.

What he ended up doing was to simply give what Joowon needed the most at that point: a confirmation.

Joowon was right all along.

And Dongsik himself confirmed it.

Which was why it was Dongsik who was in for a surprise in the end. Not only because he was shocked that this crazy motherfucker actually got the message he was trying to say and announced it on national television, without preamble or proper procedure, that they were dealing with a serial killer.

But to Dongsik's surprise: Joowon already knew. Because Joowon knew more.

Dongsik only knew 5 victims.

But Joowon had named 8.

This, this was the real start of them finally working together as partners, even before either of them had been aware of it.

Even before either of them had wanted it.

They had already been partners even before all this began—because they had already been working on the exact same case.

Day 6: Werewolves/Weremonsters

Monsters exist. They’re all around. They live in society as normal people. Well, most of the time as normal people. Those not in the know don’t usually realize they exist.

Han Yoojin is a monster, albeit a pretty weak werecat. He just was going about his day as usual. Going to work and then going home to take care of his brother. When he was walking home something jumped at him from the shadows, a strong hand wrapping around his throat. Han Yoojin looks up to see threatening eyes, fangs and a hairy body looking down at him.

Oh. It��s Song Taewon. He’d recognize that chest anywhere. It’s his neighbor whom he helps out occasionally. Seeing the man work so many late nights had worried Han Yoojin after all.

And ah- the hand around his throat is getting tighter. It’s getting harder to breathe. Han Yoojin tries to speak a croaky, “Song Taewon-ssi,” escapes past his lips. Then suddenly a sharp pain slams into him as the man above him punctures his shoulder with his canines.

“AHK!” a short scream tears out of his throat as he tries to push the hairy beast off of him. Teeth sinking into his skin and tearing out his flesh. It’s blinding, the blood flowing out of him, and getting caught in his throat. Ah, he might die. The pain soon becomes too much to bear and Han Yoojin passes out.

Song Taewon comes back to his senses with his mouth around someone. A chill tears down his spine as he quickly lifts off and sees the amount of blood. So much blood. What has he done? How could he, and he was so careful too. Making sure he never transformed and when he did, he made sure he was chained up.

His… acquaintance usually helped him but that damned vampire was on a business trip abroad.

Carefully getting up he sees his neighbor. Oh. Oh no. He knows this guy, and he knows he has someone to go back home to. He sees his small neighbor gargling on his own blood, struggling to breathe.

Song Taewon had to something. He picked up the smaller man and started running to his apartment. He could try to fix this. He had to fix this.

Getting there in record time he bashes open the door and sets down Han Yoojin on his table. Song Taewon quickly grips onto his phone to call the golden vampire, he must know a doctor.

Holding the bleeding wound with one hand and the phone with the other, he quickly dials up Sung Hyunje.

Too focused on the phone Song Taewon doesn’t notice the other start to twitch, claws and ear growing on the smaller man. He doesn’t notice until a mouth gnaws on his arm and his blood and flesh get consumed by the other.

“WHAT!” Did he accidentally turn Han Yoojin? This is the worst outcome, but he should’ve expected this. After all he was an alpha male 🐺 awooo. Purebred too. Damn his strong genetics and big tits.

Slowly the man under him turns more and more into a small dog, but something’s wrong. Why does he look like a cat? Why does he look like a cat and a dog?

Day 7: Friends

Han Yoojin looked around him.

Everyone he knew hand in hand.

All looking into the sunset of the beautiful world they just saved.

Tears forming in his eyes.

His beautiful partner speaks up.

“Perhaps the true journey was the friends we made along the way, and the world we saved was each other Han Yoojin-gun.”

Something’s wrong. What’s happening? The sunset is gone and a crescent moon high up in the sky. Looking down upon a small white tree sapling. It’s cold. Where is he? Blood. Blood. Blood. Blood.

Where’s Yoohyun?

Lee Sookyung and her rather relaxed expression stared at the screen for a little while, then she nodded her head. "That boy. He's still so popular." "Ahjumma?! Don't you get that it's a pretty serious problem??" "But, he looks like Yoo Joonghyuk-gun. So, what can be a serious problem?" "Because that's not the 'Yoo Joonghyuk'. That's the problem."

Oh man, where do I even begin?

First off, it’s still completely wild to me that Earth’s news continues to broadcast. That electricity for TVs and computers and communication in general is still being produced. That power lines and internet cables are still intact.

Like this all seems like such a huge apocalyptic scenario without even talking about the actual apocalyptic scenario, just the fact that scenarios exist in general with giant monsters and groups of Incarnations and Constellations out to do no good and straight up Death as the penalty for failing even simple scenarios and and and...and yet the news still persists.
